Comments Mapping population: 240 F3 families derived from a cross between AC7643S and Ac7729/TZSRWS. The experiment was conducted in the field at the CIMMYT Experimental Station in Tlaltizapan, Mexico during the dry season (November-April) in 1992 (92A), 1993 (93A) and 1994 (94A). Plants were treated by three water regimes: well watered (WW, 92A and (3A), intermediate stress (IS, 92A and 94A) and Severe stress (SS, 92A, 93A and 94A). The number of ears was recorded per plot (10 plants) included all ears having one grain or more. Harvested ears were air dried for 3 days in airflow drier at 40 degree C), where the moisture reached at 11%. Grain yield was meaured by weighting grains from each plot. The presence of a QTL was declared significant if LOD score > 2.5. The present QTL was detected from IS 94A.
