Gramene Gene and Allele Database
The Genes database, AKA Gene and Allele database, at Gramene is a curated resource providing collective information about publicly available genes in cereal crops such as rice, maize, wheat, etc. It includes descriptions of genes and alleles associated with morphological, developmental and agronomically important phenotypes, variants of physiological characters, biochemical functions and isozymes.
Gene Search or Browse Options
Home Page: Introduction and Quick search - Search the Gene database by keyword. Use the symbol * for wild card search (e.g. flower*). Simple Search: From this page you can browse by Trait Ontology, Plant Structure Ontology, or Growth Stage Ontology, or your keyword search can be restricted to any one field, gene type, and/or species, and these results can be filtered to only those that have a known phenotype. Help
Help Presents an overview on how to use the Genes and Alleles database and lists explanations of field names. Tutorial More in-depth than the help pages, use the tutorial for an exaple of using the database, see how it integrates other datasets, and get tips to increase your data search efficiency. FAQ Frequently Asked Questions - see what questions users have asked, and get the developers answers. Release Notes For more information about the most recent release. Submit Genes
